The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is pleased to announce the 2025 – 2026 recipients of the President’s Environmental Youth Award (PEYA) and the Presidential Innovation Award for Environmental Educators (PIAEE). The President's Environmental Youth Award (PEYA) recognizes outstanding environmental stewardship projects developed by kindergarten through grade 12 (K-12) youth and promotes awareness of our nation’s natural resources and encourages positive community involvement. This year EPA is recognizing 3 awardees for students in K-5, and 10 awardees in grades 6-12. PEYA student projects improved water quality, created green spaces in student’s communities, and coordinated impressive recycling efforts. Many of these projects leveraged Artificial Intelligence, highlighting the innovative approaches of these environmental problem solvers. Read more about our PEYA awardees and their projects here! The Presidential Innovation Award for Environmental Educators (PIAEE) acknowledges exemplary K-12 educators who utilize innovative methods in environmental education.
